Course Introduction

The Grant Proposal Writing, Fundraising and Management Induction Programme provides participants with a practical foundation in resource mobilization, donor engagement, proposal development, grant administration, and fundraising strategies. The programme introduces the complete grant management cycle, enabling participants to understand how organizations successfully secure funding, implement donor-funded projects, maintain compliance, and achieve sustainable development outcomes.

Securing sustainable funding has become increasingly competitive as governments, development partners, foundations, corporations, and philanthropic organizations demand stronger accountability, measurable impact, innovation, and value for money. Organizations seeking financial support must therefore demonstrate not only compelling project ideas but also sound planning, effective governance, strong financial management, and the capacity to deliver measurable development outcomes. This course equips participants with practical skills to navigate today's complex funding environment and significantly improve their success in resource mobilization.

Effective grant management is equally critical to maintaining donor confidence and achieving successful project implementation. Participants develop practical competencies in grant administration, financial oversight, procurement compliance, risk management, contract administration, donor reporting, monitoring and evaluation, audit readiness, knowledge management, and project close-out. The course demonstrates how effective governance, transparency, and accountability contribute to stronger donor relationships and improved programme performance throughout the implementation period.

Through interactive lectures, practical exercises, proposal reviews, donor case studies, group discussions, and hands-on writing sessions, participants will gain the essential competencies required to contribute effectively to grant-funded programmes across government agencies, NGOs, development partners, academic institutions, humanitarian organizations, and the private sector.
