Course Introduction

Government innovation increasingly depends on the strength of the ecosystem surrounding public institutions. Governments rarely possess all the expertise, technologies, resources, research capabilities, entrepreneurial capacity, and community knowledge required to address complex challenges independently. Effective ecosystem management enables public institutions to connect with universities, startups, businesses, civil society, development organizations, citizens, investors, and technology providers to generate and scale solutions that create meaningful public value.

Government Innovation Ecosystem Management Training Course provides a strategic and practical framework for understanding, developing, coordinating, and governing innovation ecosystems that support public-sector transformation. Participants will explore how ecosystems function, how actors interact, how capabilities and resources move across institutional boundaries, and how government organizations can create conditions that encourage experimentation, collaboration, knowledge exchange, investment, and responsible innovation.

The programme examines the different actors and relationships that influence government innovation, including public agencies, research institutions, private enterprises, technology companies, startups, accelerators, innovation hubs, civil society organizations, professional networks, citizens, and international development partners.
