Course Introduction
Road networks form the backbone of economic development, mobility, trade, emergency response, and public service delivery. Governments, transportation agencies, logistics companies, urban planners, and development organizations increasingly rely on Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to analyze road infrastructure, optimize transportation systems, and improve connectivity. This course provides participants with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in applying GIS technologies to road network analysis, enabling data-driven planning, monitoring, and management of transportation systems.
Modern transportation systems generate large volumes of spatial data that can be analyzed to understand accessibility, travel patterns, congestion, connectivity, and infrastructure performance.
