Course Introduction

Infrastructure systems such as roads, bridges, pipelines, power grids, and water networks are critical assets that require continuous monitoring to ensure safety, efficiency, and long-term sustainability. Effective infrastructure management depends on accurate spatial information and real-time monitoring systems.

GIS technology provides a powerful framework for monitoring infrastructure by integrating spatial data, remote sensing imagery, field inspections, and sensor data. It enables engineers and planners to visualize asset conditions and detect changes over time.
