Course Introduction

The Geospatial Technologies for Green Infrastructure Planning Course provides a comprehensive and applied exploration of how spatial intelligence supports the design, implementation, and management of environmentally sustainable infrastructure systems. It equips participants with advanced GIS and remote sensing skills for green planning solutions.

The course introduces core concepts of green infrastructure, ecosystem services, and spatial planning frameworks supported by geospatial technologies. Participants will learn how spatial data helps identify ecological networks, urban green spaces, and environmentally sensitive zones for sustainable development.

A strong emphasis is placed on integrating GIS, remote sensing, and spatial modeling tools to design climate-resilient infrastructure systems. Participants will explore how green infrastructure enhances stormwater management, urban cooling, biodiversity conservation, and environmental quality.

The program further examines spatial decision-support systems used in land use planning, urban greening strategies, and ecological restoration projects. Participants will understand how geospatial intelligence guides sustainable infrastructure investments and policy decisions.

Participants will also engage with advanced technologies such as AI-driven spatial analysis, LiDAR-based vegetation mapping, and digital twin systems for green infrastructure monitoring. These tools enable dynamic assessment of environmental performance and infrastructure resilience.

Ultimately, the course prepares professionals to design and manage geospatially enabled green infrastructure systems that promote sustainability, climate adaptation, and resilient urban and regional development.
