Course Introduction

Generative AI is rapidly changing how projects are planned, executed, monitored, and delivered, creating new opportunities for project managers and PMO professionals to improve productivity, decision-making, collaboration, and strategic value. This course provides a practical and comprehensive introduction to using generative AI across the project management lifecycle.

The Generative AI for Project Managers and PMO Professionals Course explores how AI technologies can support project managers in developing project plans, generating documentation, analyzing information, managing risks, communicating with stakeholders, and accelerating routine administrative activities. Participants will learn where AI can add measurable value without replacing professional judgment.

The course also examines the evolving relationship between generative AI and Project Management Offices. Participants will discover how PMOs can use AI to standardize processes, improve governance, automate reporting, strengthen portfolio visibility, support resource planning, and create more efficient project delivery environments while maintaining appropriate controls and accountability.

Practical application is central to the learning experience. Participants will explore prompting techniques, AI-assisted project documentation, meeting intelligence, risk and issue analysis, schedule support, stakeholder communication, reporting, and decision-support workflows. Emphasis will be placed on developing repeatable approaches that can be adapted to different project environments, organizational structures, and levels of AI maturity.

Because generative AI introduces important challenges alongside its benefits, the course addresses emerging issues such as hallucinations, data privacy, intellectual property, cybersecurity, bias, AI governance, responsible adoption, human oversight, and organizational change. Participants will learn how to evaluate AI-generated outputs critically and establish safeguards that protect project quality, confidentiality, and organizational interests.

By the end of the course, participants will have a practical framework for integrating generative AI into project management and PMO activities responsibly and effectively. The course is designed to help professionals move beyond experimentation toward structured AI adoption that improves efficiency, enhances decision quality, strengthens project governance, and delivers greater value to stakeholders.
