Introduction

Accurate and inclusive data is critical for informed policy, planning, and decision-making. The Gender-Sensitive Data Collection, Analysis, and Reporting Training Course equips participants with the skills and knowledge to collect, analyze, and report data in a way that reflects gender dynamics and promotes equality.

The course examines how gender disparities affect data availability, quality, and interpretation. Participants will learn methodologies to identify gaps and ensure data is inclusive, representative, and actionable for policy, program design, and monitoring.

Participants will gain competencies in gender-sensitive survey design, sampling, data collection tools, statistical analysis, and reporting standards. Emphasis is placed on ethical considerations, privacy, and culturally appropriate practices in data handling.

Emerging topics such as digital data platforms, big data analytics, participatory data collection, and visualization techniques are incorporated. Participants will explore innovative approaches to presenting gender-disaggregated data for evidence-based decision-making.

The course also reviews international and regional guidelines, including UN Gender Statistics frameworks, SDG indicators, and African development initiatives. Participants will learn to align data collection and reporting practices with global and national standards.

By the end of the program, participants will be able to design gender-sensitive surveys, apply rigorous analytical techniques, present actionable insights, and influence policy and programmatic decisions to promote equality and social inclusion.
