Introduction

Gender justice is fundamental to achieving equitable societies where everyone can enjoy their human rights. The Gender Justice, Human Rights, and Advocacy Training Course equips participants with the skills, knowledge, and strategies needed to promote gender equality, protect human rights, and advocate for policy and social reforms.

The course examines structural and systemic barriers to gender justice, including discriminatory laws, practices, and social norms. Participants will gain insight into how these factors affect women, marginalized groups, and vulnerable populations, and how to address them through strategic advocacy.

Participants will develop competencies in legal frameworks, human rights instruments, and advocacy methodologies. Emphasis is placed on practical tools for policy analysis, lobbying, public engagement, and media advocacy to drive change at local, national, and international levels.

Emerging topics such as digital rights, gender-based violence, intersectionality, and inclusive governance are incorporated. Participants will explore innovative approaches to promoting rights-based solutions, leveraging technology, and amplifying marginalized voices.

The course also covers international, regional, and national human rights frameworks, including CEDAW, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, SDGs, and African human rights instruments. Participants will learn to align advocacy initiatives with these standards for maximum impact.

By the end of the program, participants will be able to design and implement advocacy campaigns, influence policy reform, promote gender justice, and advance human rights in diverse contexts, building inclusive, accountable, and equitable institutions.
