Course Introduction

Artificial Intelligence is rapidly reshaping decision-making systems across governments, businesses, and society, yet it often reflects and amplifies existing gender biases when not properly governed. Gender-inclusive AI policy ensures that algorithms, data systems, and governance frameworks promote fairness, equity, and accountability for all users. This course provides a structured approach to building inclusive AI governance systems.

As AI systems increasingly influence hiring, credit scoring, healthcare, security, and public services, the risk of embedded gender bias becomes a major policy concern. Without inclusive governance frameworks, these systems can unintentionally exclude or disadvantage women and other marginalized groups.
