Course Introduction

Gender Equity and Ethical AI Governance for Institutions Course is designed to equip institutional leaders, policy makers, and technology practitioners with the knowledge and frameworks needed to govern artificial intelligence systems in ways that are fair, transparent, and gender-responsive.

As AI increasingly shapes decisions in public services, finance, healthcare, education, and governance, the risk of bias and discrimination has grown significantly. This course addresses how gender inequality can be embedded in algorithms and how institutions can proactively prevent such outcomes.

Participants will explore ethical AI governance frameworks, focusing on accountability, transparency, data ethics, and inclusive design principles that ensure AI systems serve all populations equitably.

The course also examines the intersection of gender equity and digital transformation, highlighting how AI systems can either reinforce or reduce structural inequalities depending on how they are designed and governed.

Special emphasis is placed on regulatory approaches, institutional oversight mechanisms, and ethical review systems that ensure responsible AI deployment across sectors.

Ultimately, this course empowers institutions to build trustworthy AI governance systems that promote gender equity, protect human rights, and ensure inclusive technological advancement.
