Introduction

Energy access, sustainability, and gender equity are interconnected drivers of inclusive development. The Gender, Energy, and Sustainability Transitions Training Course equips participants with the knowledge, strategies, and practical tools to promote gender-sensitive approaches in energy and sustainability initiatives.

The course explores the social, economic, and environmental dimensions of energy systems, emphasizing the barriers women face in accessing clean, affordable, and sustainable energy. Participants will gain insights into designing inclusive energy policies and programs.

Participants will learn strategies for integrating gender perspectives into energy planning, renewable energy adoption, climate mitigation, and sustainability transitions. Emphasis is placed on aligning interventions with global frameworks such as the SDGs and Paris Agreement.

Emerging topics such as clean energy technologies, renewable energy financing, green economy, and community-based sustainability projects are incorporated. Participants will explore innovative solutions that empower women while promoting environmental resilience.

The course also examines energy governance, policy frameworks, institutional mechanisms, and stakeholder engagement. Participants will develop skills to influence policy, monitor programs, and advocate for gender-responsive and sustainable energy systems.

By the end of the program, participants will be able to design and implement gender-responsive energy initiatives, foster sustainable development, advocate for inclusive energy policies, and contribute to equitable, low-carbon, and resilient energy systems.
