Course Introduction

The Forest Conservation and Sustainable Forestry Training Course is designed to build technical, policy, and managerial capacity for protecting forest ecosystems while ensuring sustainable utilization of forest resources for economic, ecological, and social benefits.

Forests play a critical role in climate regulation, biodiversity preservation, water cycle stability, and livelihood support for millions of people worldwide. However, deforestation, illegal logging, land conversion, and climate change continue to threaten global forest systems.

This course provides participants with a comprehensive understanding of forest governance frameworks, sustainable forestry practices, conservation strategies, and ecosystem management approaches that support long-term forest resilience.

Participants will explore both traditional and modern forestry management systems, including community forestry, agroforestry, conservation forestry, and commercial forestry models aligned with sustainability principles.

The training emphasizes policy development, forest monitoring technologies, carbon accounting, and sustainable supply chain management to ensure forests are managed responsibly and transparently.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to design and implement forest conservation and sustainable forestry strategies that balance ecological integrity with economic development needs.
