Course Introduction

Feminist leadership is an approach to leadership that challenges traditional power structures and promotes equity, inclusion, participation, and justice in decision-making processes. This course provides a comprehensive understanding of feminist leadership principles and their application in driving transformative social change across institutions, communities, and governance systems.

In many contexts, leadership models have historically excluded women and marginalized voices, resulting in unequal systems and limited social transformation. This course addresses these gaps by equipping participants with leadership frameworks rooted in feminist theory, collective action, and participatory governance for inclusive change.

Participants will explore how feminist leadership integrates values such as collaboration, empathy, accountability, and intersectionality into organizational and societal transformation processes. The course emphasizes practical leadership tools that enable participants to influence policies, institutions, and communities effectively.

A strong focus is placed on change management strategies that support gender equality and social justice movements. Participants will learn how to design, implement, and sustain social change initiatives that challenge systemic inequality and promote inclusive development outcomes.

The course also examines contemporary issues such as digital activism, intersectional leadership, climate justice, and power redistribution in institutions. These emerging themes are essential for understanding how feminist leadership adapts to evolving global challenges and opportunities.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to apply feminist leadership principles to manage social change processes, strengthen advocacy efforts, and build inclusive institutions that promote equality and justice.
