Course Introduction

This Executive Gender-Based Violence Law and Institutional Response Training Course is designed to equip professionals with advanced legal, policy, and institutional response skills to prevent, address, and manage gender-based violence (GBV) in diverse institutional contexts. It emphasizes a rights-based, survivor-centered approach supported by strong legal frameworks.

The course provides an in-depth examination of gender-based violence laws at international, regional, and national levels. Participants will explore legal definitions, enforcement mechanisms, and institutional responsibilities in addressing various forms of GBV, including domestic violence, sexual violence, and harmful cultural practices.

A strong focus is placed on institutional response systems, ensuring that organizations develop effective reporting structures, survivor support mechanisms, and accountability frameworks. The course highlights the importance of coordinated multi-sectoral responses involving justice, health, and social services.

Participants will gain practical knowledge in case management, evidence handling, victim protection protocols, and referral systems. These operational tools are essential for ensuring timely, sensitive, and legally compliant responses to GBV cases within institutions.

The training also addresses emerging challenges such as digital gender-based violence, online harassment, trafficking, and conflict-related sexual violence. It equips participants with adaptive strategies to respond to evolving risks in both physical and digital environments.

By integrating legal frameworks, institutional governance, and survivor-centered response systems, this course empowers professionals to strengthen GBV prevention mechanisms and build resilient institutional structures that uphold dignity, justice, and protection.
