Introduction

Climate-smart agriculture (CSA) is critical for sustainable food systems, environmental resilience, and adaptation to climate change. This course focuses on empowering women to lead and innovate in CSA practices for improved livelihoods and community resilience.

Participants will explore the gendered dimensions of agriculture, understanding how women farmers face unique challenges and opportunities in adopting climate-smart practices.

The training emphasizes practical skills, policy frameworks, and institutional support systems that enhance women’s access to resources, technologies, and decision-making platforms in agriculture.

Emerging issues such as digital agriculture, climate-resilient crops, sustainable land management, and inclusive financing are integrated to prepare participants for contemporary CSA challenges.

Through interactive sessions, case studies, and hands-on exercises, participants will develop strategies for gender-responsive CSA interventions that boost productivity, income, and environmental sustainability.

By the end of the course, participants will be equipped to design, implement, and monitor CSA initiatives, promote women’s leadership in agriculture, and contribute to resilient and equitable food systems.
