Course Introduction
Adolescence and youth are critical stages of emotional, social, and psychological development, marked by rapid change and increased vulnerability. This Emotional Well-Being for Adolescents and Youth Training Course provides participants with practical knowledge and skills to understand, support, and strengthen young people’s emotional wellbeing in diverse settings.
The course explores how developmental transitions, identity formation, academic pressure, peer relationships, and family dynamics shape emotional wellbeing among adolescents and youth. Participants will gain a grounded understanding of how emotions influence behavior, decision-making, learning, and long-term mental health outcomes.
Special focus is placed on recognizing early warning signs of emotional distress, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, social withdrawal, and risk-taking behaviors. The training emphasizes prevention-oriented approaches that promote resilience, coping skills, and healthy emotional expression among young people.
Participants will learn age-appropriate communication and engagement strategies that foster trust, safety, and emotional openness. The course integrates practical tools for supporting adolescents and youth through everyday challenges while respecting boundaries, autonomy, and cultural contexts.
Emerging issues such as digital wellbeing, social media pressure, cyberbullying, substance use, climate anxiety, and post-crisis stress are addressed. The course also highlights the impact of gender, disability, socioeconomic factors, and trauma on youth emotional wellbeing.
By the end of the course, participants will be equipped to design supportive environments that nurture emotional wellbeing, promote positive youth development, and strengthen referral and support systems that enable adolescents and youth to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
