Course Introduction
Effective Communication and Interpersonal Skills for Managers Course is designed to strengthen the communication capabilities managers need to lead people, build productive relationships, influence stakeholders, and achieve organizational objectives. The course provides practical techniques for communicating with clarity, confidence, empathy, and professionalism across different workplace situations, personalities, communication channels, and levels of responsibility.
Managers communicate continuously through meetings, conversations, emails, presentations, reports, feedback sessions, negotiations, coaching discussions, and informal interactions. Participants will learn how to structure messages effectively, adapt communication to different audiences, listen actively, ask purposeful questions, clarify expectations, and reduce misunderstandings. The programme emphasizes communication as a core management responsibility that directly influences trust, engagement, productivity, and organizational performance.
Interpersonal effectiveness is equally important because managers must work successfully with people who have different personalities, experiences, cultural backgrounds, communication preferences, motivations, and expectations. Participants will explore emotional intelligence, empathy, self-awareness, relationship building, influence, assertiveness, and professional presence. These capabilities help managers establish credibility, handle sensitive situations, encourage collaboration, and maintain constructive relationships even when opinions or priorities differ.
The course also addresses challenging management communication, including giving feedback, managing difficult conversations, resolving misunderstandings, communicating unpopular decisions, handling resistance, and addressing performance or behavioral concerns. Participants will develop practical approaches for remaining composed under pressure, managing emotions, responding to difficult behaviors, and communicating with firmness while maintaining respect and fairness.
Modern managers increasingly communicate through digital and hybrid channels, including email, instant messaging, video conferencing, collaborative platforms, and AI-supported communication tools. The course examines how digital communication can affect clarity, responsiveness, trust, inclusion, and interpersonal connection, while considering emerging issues such as artificial intelligence, automated communication, digital overload, remote collaboration, information fatigue, and responsible use of technology.
Throughout the five-day programme, participants will engage in communication exercises, role plays, workplace scenarios, feedback practice, interpersonal assessments, case studies, and practical management activities. The programme enables participants to immediately apply communication and interpersonal techniques to everyday leadership situations and develop a personal action plan for improving managerial communication, workplace relationships, team collaboration, influence, and leadership effectiveness.
