Course Introduction

The Double Materiality Assessment Training Course is designed to equip professionals with advanced knowledge and practical skills to identify, assess, and integrate both financial and impact materiality in ESG and sustainability reporting systems. It emphasizes structured methodologies for ESG decision-making.

As sustainability regulations such as CSRD in Europe and global ESG frameworks evolve, double materiality has become a critical requirement for organizations. This course helps participants understand how to assess material issues from both an enterprise value and societal impact perspective.

Participants will explore the principles of financial materiality (how sustainability issues affect enterprise value) and impact materiality (how the organization affects the environment and society). The training provides structured tools for integrating both perspectives into reporting frameworks.

The course also covers stakeholder engagement processes, data identification techniques, and prioritization methodologies used in conducting robust materiality assessments. Participants will gain practical skills in mapping ESG impacts and risks across value chains.

Special emphasis is placed on aligning materiality assessments with regulatory requirements such as CSRD, GRI Standards, and ISSB frameworks. Real-world case studies demonstrate how leading organizations apply double materiality in reporting and strategy.

By the end of the course, learners will be able to conduct comprehensive double materiality assessments that support transparent ESG reporting, strategic decision-making, and compliance with global sustainability standards.
