Course Introduction

Data protection and privacy have become critical priorities for NGOs as organizations increasingly collect, store, and process sensitive beneficiary, donor, and stakeholder information across multiple platforms and systems.

This course provides a comprehensive understanding of global data protection principles and how they apply within NGO operational environments, especially in humanitarian and development contexts.

Participants will gain practical knowledge on how to safeguard personal data, ensure compliance with legal and donor requirements, and reduce risks associated with data breaches and misuse.

The training emphasizes building secure data handling systems that protect vulnerable populations while maintaining transparency, accountability, and ethical standards in program implementation.

It also explores emerging global regulations, digital transformation trends, and cybersecurity risks that directly affect NGOs operating in complex and high-risk environments.

Ultimately, the course strengthens institutional capacity to manage data responsibly while building trust with beneficiaries, donors, and regulatory bodies.
