Course Introduction

Technology failures and system outages can disrupt customer services, internal operations, transactions, communications, digital platforms, and critical business processes within minutes. Because users increasingly expect continuous availability, even a technically contained incident can quickly become a major reputational event when uncertainty, frustration, media attention, and online speculation begin to accelerate.

This course equips PR, corporate affairs, communications, technology, incident management, and executive teams with practical frameworks for communicating effectively during technology failures and system outages. Participants examine how to establish rapid communication structures, assess incident severity, prioritise audiences, coordinate technical information, manage expectations, and maintain confidence while engineers and operational teams work towards restoration.
