Course Introduction

Creator partnerships can generate valuable reach, credibility, audience engagement and public influence, but they can also introduce significant reputational, operational, legal, financial and communication risks. Organisations increasingly need structured processes for understanding these risks before entering partnerships and for managing them throughout the relationship.

This course provides communication professionals with a practical framework for managing risk across the complete creator partnership lifecycle. Participants examine how to identify potential exposure during creator selection, assess partnership suitability, establish appropriate controls, define responsibilities and monitor changing risks once a collaboration is active.

The programme explores how creator-related risks can emerge from content, behaviour, affiliations, audience dynamics, commercial arrangements, disclosure practices, misinformation, inappropriate conduct and rapidly changing public narratives. Participants learn to distinguish material risks from low-impact concerns and to apply proportional responses based on evidence, likelihood, potential impact and organisational risk appetite.

Participants will also examine how AI and analytics can strengthen creator partnership risk management. Natural language processing, sentiment analysis, topic modelling, entity recognition, classification, anomaly detection and network analysis can support screening and continuous monitoring. Generative AI can assist with risk summaries and workflow preparation, while human judgement remains essential for contextual interpretation, verification, fairness and accountability.

The course addresses emerging threats including synthetic media, deepfakes, AI-generated statements, fabricated engagement, automated influence activity, coordinated misinformation and identity manipulation. It also examines privacy, data protection, contractual controls, disclosure requirements, content rights, governance and escalation processes required to manage creator relationships responsibly.

By the end of the programme, participants will be equipped to establish a systematic creator partnership risk-management capability. They will be able to assess risks, prioritise controls, coordinate internal stakeholders, monitor active partnerships, respond to incidents and strengthen governance so that creator collaborations generate communication value without creating unmanaged organisational exposure.
