Course Introduction

The Construction Procurement Claims and Legal Administration Training Course is a comprehensive professional development program designed to strengthen participants' knowledge of construction procurement, contract administration, claims management, and legal compliance throughout the project lifecycle. Modern construction projects involve multiple stakeholders, complex contractual relationships, evolving procurement regulations, and increasing legal risks that require effective contract governance and professional claims administration. This course equips participants with practical knowledge and internationally recognized best practices to manage procurement processes, administer construction contracts, resolve disputes, and minimize legal and commercial risks.

Construction procurement serves as the foundation for successful project delivery by ensuring transparent contractor selection, fair competition, effective resource allocation, and contractual certainty. However, project delays, design changes, cost overruns, variations, unforeseen site conditions, supply chain disruptions, and contractual ambiguities frequently give rise to claims and disputes. Participants will develop a comprehensive understanding of procurement law, contract formation, claims procedures, contractual obligations, dispute avoidance strategies, and legal administration techniques that support efficient project execution and successful contract performance.

The course integrates procurement regulations, construction contract law, FIDIC and other standard forms of contract, claims preparation, contract administration, dispute resolution, risk allocation, negotiation strategies, project documentation, procurement ethics, compliance management, contract closeout, and governance into a practical learning experience. Participants will also explore emerging topics including Building Information Modeling (BIM), digital procurement systems, artificial intelligence in contract management, environmental, social, and governance (ESG) procurement requirements, sustainable construction, cybersecurity in procurement platforms, digital evidence management, and evolving international procurement standards.

Through practical case studies, procurement simulations, contract review exercises, claims analysis workshops, dispute resolution scenarios, and collaborative discussions, participants will strengthen their ability to administer contracts, evaluate entitlement to claims, manage procurement documentation, interpret contractual provisions, and respond effectively to legal challenges. The course emphasizes practical application using internationally recognized procurement frameworks and construction contract methodologies applicable to public and private sector infrastructure, engineering, and building projects.

Effective procurement and legal administration require sound governance, contractual clarity, accurate documentation, timely decision-making, ethical conduct, and proactive risk management. This training course develops competencies in procurement planning, contract administration, legal compliance, claims evaluation, negotiation, dispute prevention, project governance, and stakeholder communication, enabling participants to improve project performance while protecting organizational interests throughout construction project delivery.

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will possess the practical skills and professional knowledge required to strengthen procurement governance, administer construction contracts effectively, manage claims professionally, minimize disputes, ensure regulatory compliance, and improve commercial outcomes. They will be well prepared to contribute to successful project delivery, contractual certainty, operational efficiency, and sustainable infrastructure development within increasingly complex construction environments.
