Course Introduction

Construction Contract Management and FIDIC Training Course is designed to provide professionals with advanced knowledge and practical skills required to manage construction contracts effectively, administer contractual obligations, and resolve complex project challenges. The course focuses on contract formation, FIDIC contract conditions, risk allocation, claims management, dispute resolution, procurement strategies, and project administration practices essential for successful construction delivery.

Modern construction projects involve increasingly complex contractual relationships, strict regulatory requirements, international standards, and diverse stakeholder expectations. Effective contract management is critical for controlling costs, managing risks, preventing disputes, and ensuring timely project completion. This course enables participants to understand the legal, commercial, and technical aspects of construction contracts while developing the ability to apply internationally recognized contract management principles.

Participants will develop practical competencies in contract preparation, tender evaluation, contract negotiation, FIDIC clauses interpretation, payment management, variation procedures, extension of time claims, delay analysis, and dispute avoidance strategies. Through practical examples, case studies, contractual scenarios, and industry applications, learners will strengthen their ability to administer contracts effectively and make informed decisions throughout the project lifecycle.

The course explores emerging developments in construction contract management, including digital contract administration, Building Information Modeling (BIM) integration, artificial intelligence applications, electronic procurement systems, smart contracts, sustainability requirements, and evolving international construction practices. Participants will understand how technology and innovation are transforming contract management processes and improving transparency, collaboration, and project performance.

Special emphasis is placed on FIDIC contract frameworks, including risk management approaches, employer and contractor responsibilities, engineer’s roles, claims procedures, dispute boards, arbitration processes, and international best practices. Participants will gain the confidence to manage contractual relationships, interpret contractual requirements, and implement effective strategies for reducing conflicts and improving project outcomes.

By the end of this course, participants will possess the expertise required to manage construction contracts professionally, minimize contractual risks, improve project governance, and enhance stakeholder relationships. They will be equipped with practical tools and techniques to successfully administer FIDIC-based contracts and deliver construction projects with improved efficiency, compliance, and commercial performance.
