Introduction

Understanding and addressing conflict dynamics is essential for sustainable development and effective humanitarian programming. This course equips participants with the knowledge and skills to design and implement conflict-sensitive programs that promote peace and stability.

Participants will explore frameworks for analyzing conflict, identifying root causes, and understanding local power structures. Emphasis is placed on integrating conflict sensitivity into program planning, implementation, and evaluation.

Peacebuilding requires multi-stakeholder collaboration. Learners will gain practical tools for engaging communities, local authorities, NGOs, and international actors to foster dialogue, reconciliation, and inclusive decision-making.

Post-conflict recovery is critical for rebuilding communities and institutions. The course provides strategies for restoring social cohesion, supporting livelihoods, and strengthening local governance in fragile and recovering contexts.

Monitoring, evaluation, and learning are central to adaptive peacebuilding. Participants will learn methods to track program impact, integrate lessons learned, and ensure accountability to affected populations and stakeholders.

Through case studies, simulations, and participatory exercises, participants will acquire practical competencies to implement conflict-sensitive programs, contribute to peacebuilding, and support sustainable post-conflict recovery initiatives.
