Introduction
Psychosocial support programs play a critical role in addressing the emotional, social, and psychological wellbeing of individuals and communities affected by crisis, inequality, and long-term stressors. This course provides a comprehensive foundation for managing psychosocial support programs that are effective, ethical, and responsive to diverse humanitarian and development contexts.
The training is designed to strengthen participants’ capacity to plan, coordinate, and oversee psychosocial support interventions across sectors such as health, education, protection, and community development. It emphasizes the integration of psychosocial principles into program design to ensure holistic and people-centered service delivery.
Participants will gain advanced knowledge of psychosocial support frameworks, including trauma-informed care, resilience-building, and community-based approaches. The course highlights how evidence-based psychosocial interventions can be scaled while maintaining quality, cultural relevance, and accountability to affected populations.
Given the complexity of psychosocial needs, the course addresses multi-sectoral coordination, stakeholder engagement, and referral systems. Learners will explore how to align psychosocial support programs with national policies, donor requirements, and international standards while responding flexibly to evolving needs.
The training also focuses on monitoring, evaluation, and learning systems for psychosocial programs. Participants will develop skills to measure outcomes, ensure data quality, and use evidence for adaptive management, accountability, and continuous improvement in dynamic operational environments.
By the end of the course, participants will be equipped to lead sustainable psychosocial support programs that promote wellbeing, social cohesion, and resilience. The course empowers managers to deliver high-impact psychosocial services that protect dignity, strengthen communities, and contribute to long-term recovery and development.
