Course Introduction

Community mobilization is a fundamental pillar of successful rural development initiatives because sustainable change can only be achieved when communities actively participate in identifying challenges, designing solutions, implementing interventions, and monitoring results. Rural development projects that prioritize meaningful community engagement are more likely to achieve ownership, accountability, and long-term sustainability.
