Course Introduction
Community-Driven Development (CDD) project management is an inclusive approach that empowers local communities to take the lead in identifying, designing, implementing, and managing development initiatives. This course equips participants with practical skills to facilitate participatory development processes that ensure ownership and sustainability.
In many development contexts, top-down project approaches have failed to deliver long-term impact due to weak community ownership and limited local engagement. CDD approaches address this gap by placing communities at the center of decision-making and resource allocation processes.
Participants will explore project management principles tailored to community contexts, including participatory planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. The training emphasizes tools that enhance transparency, accountability, and inclusiveness in development projects.
The course also focuses on strengthening collaboration between communities, local governments, NGOs, and development partners. It highlights how multi-stakeholder engagement can improve efficiency, equity, and sustainability of development outcomes.
Special attention is given to social inclusion, ensuring that women, youth, and marginalized groups actively participate in and benefit from community-driven initiatives. Practical case studies and real-world examples are used throughout the training.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to design, manage, and evaluate community-driven development projects that are participatory, sustainable, and impactful.
