Course Introduction

Climate change is increasingly driving human migration, creating complex challenges for food security and community resilience. This course equips participants with tools and knowledge to assess, plan, and implement strategies addressing migration linked to climate-induced food insecurity.

Participants will explore the multidimensional impacts of climate-induced displacement, including disruptions in agricultural production, supply chains, nutritional outcomes, and livelihood security, emphasizing evidence-based planning and interventions.

The course highlights methodologies for analyzing migration patterns, identifying vulnerable populations, and integrating food security considerations into adaptive strategies that reduce the humanitarian and socio-economic impacts of displacement.

Through case studies, scenario analysis, and practical exercises, learners will examine how policies, governance frameworks, and institutional coordination can enhance resilience and reduce risks associated with climate-driven migration.

Participants will gain practical skills to design, monitor, and evaluate food security programs tailored to migrant and host communities, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently and interventions are socially inclusive.

By the end of the course, participants will be capable of developing actionable strategies linking climate change adaptation, migration planning, and food security, contributing to sustainable, resilient, and equitable outcomes in affected regions.
