Course Introduction

Effective climate communication is now a critical tool for driving environmental awareness, shaping public opinion, and influencing policy action. This course equips participants with the skills to translate complex climate science into clear, compelling, and actionable messages.

The program explores how communication strategies can be used to mobilize communities, influence decision-makers, and strengthen environmental advocacy campaigns. Participants will learn how narratives shape environmental behavior and policy outcomes.

A strong emphasis is placed on media engagement, storytelling techniques, and digital advocacy tools that amplify climate action messages across diverse audiences. The course bridges science, communication, and activism.

Participants will also analyze misinformation, climate skepticism, and communication barriers that hinder effective environmental awareness. Strategies for addressing these challenges will be developed through practical case studies.

The course further examines the role of journalists, NGOs, governments, and civil society in advancing climate communication and environmental advocacy at local, national, and global levels.

By the end of the course, learners will be able to design impactful communication campaigns that promote climate awareness, behavioral change, and environmental policy support.
