Course Introduction

Climate change threatens food security by disrupting agriculture, increasing vulnerability of communities, and straining financial resources. This course equips participants with the knowledge to design, mobilize, and manage climate adaptation finance for effective food security programs.

Participants will learn how to integrate climate risk assessments with financial planning to allocate resources efficiently, enabling adaptive interventions that safeguard vulnerable populations and ensure sustainable food systems.

The course emphasizes understanding global and national financing mechanisms, including climate funds, insurance schemes, public-private partnerships, and investment strategies tailored to food security programs.

Through real-world case studies, participants will explore how climate adaptation finance can support crop diversification, irrigation, livestock resilience, and community-based food security initiatives.

Participants will gain skills to monitor, evaluate, and report on finance effectiveness, ensuring transparency, accountability, and measurable outcomes in climate adaptation investments.

By the end of the course, learners will be capable of designing financially sustainable food security programs, accessing climate adaptation funds, and strategically deploying resources to strengthen resilience under changing climatic conditions.
