Introduction

The rapid growth of the microfinance and financial inclusion sector has brought both opportunities and ethical challenges. The Client Protection and Ethical Lending Training Course is designed to strengthen participants’ understanding of responsible finance principles, ensuring that financial institutions deliver products and services in ways that safeguard client interests, promote transparency, and uphold institutional integrity.

In recent years, the global microfinance sector has faced increased scrutiny over issues such as client over-indebtedness, unfair pricing, and poor lending practices. Participants will explore the six core Client Protection Principles; appropriate product design, prevention of over-indebtedness, transparency, responsible pricing, fair and respectful treatment, and privacy of client data.
