Course Introduction

Carbon markets have become a central pillar in corporate sustainability and ESG strategies, enabling organizations to measure, manage, and offset their greenhouse gas emissions through structured market mechanisms. As regulatory pressures and stakeholder expectations increase, companies are integrating carbon markets into long-term sustainability planning.

The evolution of ESG frameworks has accelerated corporate participation in both voluntary and compliance carbon markets. Businesses are no longer treating carbon credits as optional tools but as strategic instruments for achieving net-zero commitments, improving ESG ratings, and managing transition risks.

This course provides a comprehensive understanding of how carbon markets function within corporate sustainability strategies. It explores how organizations procure, trade, and retire carbon credits while aligning with global ESG disclosure standards and climate commitments.

Participants will gain insight into corporate carbon accounting systems, Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions management, and how carbon markets support decarbonization pathways. The course also addresses the integration of carbon pricing into corporate financial planning.

A strong focus is placed on ESG reporting frameworks such as GRI, SASB, TCFD, and ISSB, and how carbon market participation enhances corporate transparency, investor confidence, and sustainability performance.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to design corporate carbon strategies, engage effectively in carbon markets, and integrate ESG-aligned carbon management into enterprise decision-making.
