Course Introduction

Building Community Resilience to Economic Shocks is a critical development course designed to equip practitioners with the skills and strategies needed to help communities withstand, adapt to, and recover from financial crises, market disruptions, and economic instability. The course also highlights the importance of social protection systems, including safety nets, savings groups, microfinance, and community-based insurance models. These mechanisms play a key role in cushioning households from sudden economic downturns and shocks.
