Course Introduction
Bridge Inspection and Maintenance Training Course is designed to equip civil engineers, structural engineers, bridge inspectors, maintenance engineers, construction supervisors, infrastructure managers, consultants, contractors, transportation authorities, and public works professionals with comprehensive knowledge and practical competencies required to inspect, assess, maintain, rehabilitate, and manage bridge infrastructure throughout its lifecycle. The course provides an in-depth understanding of bridge engineering principles, structural inspection techniques, condition assessment, maintenance planning, rehabilitation methodologies, quality assurance, and asset management while emphasizing engineering best practices that improve structural safety, operational reliability, durability, and long-term infrastructure performance.
Bridges are among the most critical components of transportation infrastructure, supporting economic development, regional connectivity, and public mobility. Aging bridge assets, increasing traffic loads, environmental deterioration, extreme weather events, and budget constraints demand systematic inspection and proactive maintenance strategies to preserve structural integrity and public safety. This course enables participants to understand the technical, operational, financial, environmental, and regulatory considerations required to effectively inspect and maintain bridge infrastructure while extending service life and minimizing lifecycle costs.
Participants will develop practical competencies in bridge inspection procedures, structural condition assessment, defect identification, non-destructive testing, maintenance planning, rehabilitation design, structural health monitoring, asset management, risk assessment, contract administration, and performance evaluation.
