Course Introduction

The Behavioral Data Analytics and Experimental Research Training Course provides a comprehensive foundation for collecting, managing, analyzing, and interpreting data about human behavior across research, business, social, digital, organizational, and public-sector environments. The course examines how behavioral data can be transformed into meaningful evidence about decision-making, preferences, attitudes, interactions, engagement, habits, and responses to different interventions. Participants will develop practical capabilities for combining behavioral measurement with rigorous experimental research methods.

The training introduces participants to major sources and forms of behavioral data, including surveys, interviews, observational records, digital activity, transaction histories, experiments, social interactions, mobile applications, websites, sensors, and longitudinal studies. Emphasis is placed on understanding how behavioral data is generated, structured, measured, and contextualized. Participants will learn to assess data quality, measurement reliability, representativeness, missingness, and potential sources of bias before using behavioral datasets for analytical or research purposes.

A major focus of the course is the design and implementation of experimental research. Participants will learn how to formulate research questions and testable hypotheses, identify variables, construct treatment and control groups, apply randomization, select appropriate samples, determine experimental conditions, and establish reliable outcome measures. The course covers laboratory, field, online, randomized, quasi-experimental, and natural experiment approaches, enabling participants to select research designs that are appropriate for different behavioral questions and practical environments.

Participants will develop analytical skills for identifying patterns, relationships, differences, trends, and behavioral responses within quantitative and qualitative datasets. The training covers descriptive statistics, hypothesis testing, correlation, regression, group comparisons, experimental effect estimation, longitudinal analysis, segmentation, and behavioral profiling. It also examines confounding, selection bias, measurement error, demand effects, attrition, social desirability, and other methodological challenges that can affect behavioral research findings.

The course also explores advanced applications of artificial intelligence, machine learning, natural language processing, digital trace analysis, and automated behavioral measurement. Participants will examine how these technologies can support behavioral prediction, classification, text analysis, personalization, anomaly detection, and large-scale behavioral research. At the same time, the training considers ethical and methodological concerns involving privacy, informed consent, algorithmic bias, explainability, sensitive behavioral information, and responsible interpretation of automated analytical results.

By the end of the course, participants will be equipped to develop rigorous behavioral research projects from research-question formulation through data collection, experimentation, analysis, interpretation, and reporting. They will understand how to combine behavioral analytics with experimental methods to investigate why people behave in particular ways and how behavior changes under different conditions. The course supports evidence-based decision-making across academic research, marketing, product development, psychology, social research, public policy, organizational studies, and digital environments.
