Course Introduction

AI is fundamentally changing how organisations collect, govern, manage, analyse, and operationalise data. This advanced course explores the transition from conventional data management architectures toward AI-native environments where intelligent systems continuously support data discovery, quality management, governance, integration, analytics, knowledge generation, and enterprise decision-making.

The programme examines how generative AI, machine learning, semantic technologies, knowledge graphs, vector databases, intelligent agents, automation, and modern data platforms can be integrated into enterprise data ecosystems. Participants learn how to build architectures in which AI is embedded directly into data management processes rather than treated as an isolated analytical capability.

A major focus is placed on intelligent data governance and quality. Participants explore AI-assisted metadata management, data cataloguing, lineage, classification, entity resolution, quality monitoring, master data management, semantic modelling, and policy enforcement. They learn how intelligent systems can continuously identify data issues, recommend remediation, explain data relationships, and support governance teams at enterprise scale.

The course also addresses enterprise intelligence, showing how governed data can be transformed into actionable insights through natural-language analytics, augmented business intelligence, predictive models, knowledge systems, and AI agents. Participants examine how organisations can connect operational data, analytical platforms, documents, external information, and organisational knowledge to create integrated intelligence environments.

Advanced attention is given to AI-native architecture, including data products, lakehouse environments, vector stores, retrieval-augmented generation, semantic layers, knowledge graphs, event-driven systems, agentic workflows, and intelligent data pipelines. Participants learn how to evaluate architectural choices based on scalability, interoperability, security, performance, cost, governance, and business value.

Responsible AI, security, privacy, and enterprise governance are embedded throughout the programme. Participants examine data sovereignty, access control, model governance, explainability, human oversight, AI risk, regulatory considerations, and operational resilience. By the end of the course, participants will be able to design an AI-native data management and enterprise intelligence strategy that connects trusted data with intelligent automation and evidence-based organisational decision-making.
