Course Introduction

Economic recovery processes following crises, conflicts, and global disruptions often risk deepening existing inequalities unless intentionally designed to be inclusive. This program equips leaders with tools to embed gender equity at the center of economic recovery strategies.

The course examines how macroeconomic policies, labor market systems, and recovery frameworks can either reinforce exclusion or promote equitable participation. Participants will learn how to design recovery strategies that ensure no group is left behind.

A strong focus is placed on gender-responsive budgeting, inclusive labor market recovery, and equitable access to financial systems. The program highlights how structural barriers can be addressed through targeted policy and institutional reforms.

Participants will explore global case studies where inclusive recovery strategies have successfully rebuilt economies while advancing gender equality, social protection, and economic empowerment for marginalized groups.

The program also addresses challenges such as unpaid care work, informal economies, and unequal access to capital, providing practical solutions for designing inclusive recovery interventions.

Ultimately, this course prepares leaders to shape economic recovery strategies that are resilient, equitable, and capable of delivering sustainable development outcomes for all.
