Course Introduction

Gender-Based Violence (GBV) remains one of the most pervasive human rights violations globally, affecting individuals across all ages, socioeconomic backgrounds, and cultures. This Advanced Gender-Based Violence Prevention, Response, and Policy Leadership Training Course equips professionals with cutting-edge knowledge, evidence-based frameworks, and leadership tools needed to prevent, detect, and respond to GBV effectively within institutional, community, and policy contexts.

The course adopts a multidisciplinary approach, integrating public health, legal, psychosocial, security, and governance perspectives to address the complex drivers and consequences of GBV. Participants will explore international conventions, national legal frameworks, survivor-centered approaches, and culturally responsive interventions that strengthen protection systems while promoting gender equality and social justice.

Special emphasis is placed on leadership and policy development, enabling participants to design, implement, and evaluate comprehensive GBV strategies at organizational and national levels. Emerging issues such as technology-facilitated abuse, conflict-related sexual violence, migration vulnerabilities, and economic empowerment linkages are examined to ensure participants remain at the forefront of contemporary GBV prevention and response practices.

Through case studies, scenario analysis, peer learning, and practical planning exercises, participants will gain actionable skills to strengthen coordination among government agencies, civil society, law enforcement, healthcare providers, and community leaders. The course ultimately prepares leaders to drive systemic change, enhance survivor protection, and build resilient institutions committed to eliminating GBV.
