Course Introduction

The Advanced Financial Planning for Infrastructure and Capital Projects Course is designed to equip professionals with the technical and strategic skills required to plan, finance, and manage large-scale infrastructure investments. As governments and private sectors increasingly invest in roads, energy systems, water supply, transport, and urban development, strong financial planning becomes essential for successful project delivery and sustainability.

This course explores the financial lifecycle of infrastructure projects, from feasibility studies and capital structuring to funding, implementation, and long-term asset management. Participants will learn how to evaluate project viability, structure financing models, and manage financial risks associated with large-scale capital investments in complex environments.

A central focus of the program is project financing strategies, including public-private partnerships, blended finance models, multilateral funding mechanisms, and private investment structures. Participants will gain practical insight into how large infrastructure projects are funded and how financial risks and returns are allocated among stakeholders.

The course also examines cost estimation, budgeting, and financial forecasting techniques used in infrastructure planning. Participants will learn how to develop accurate financial models that account for inflation, currency risk, construction delays, operational costs, and long-term maintenance requirements.

In addition, the program addresses governance, regulatory compliance, and environmental considerations in infrastructure financing. Participants will explore how financial planning must align with legal frameworks, sustainability goals, and national development priorities to ensure successful project execution.

Ultimately, this course prepares professionals to design and implement robust financial strategies for infrastructure and capital projects that drive economic growth, improve public service delivery, and ensure long-term financial sustainability.
